Quarter 4 (9 Weeks)
Art Exam for Introduction to Art *Will take the entire marking period. * There will be 5-6 Exams with Due Dates assigned
Each Exam will be given an equal amount of time to be completed. Each exam will also have two parts. 1. Progress Grade: Schematic Questions based on the exam, 3 Sketches of the exam for planning, and Photograph of the exam in progress. (Half way through exam.) 2. Final Exam Grade: Exit Critique Questions about the work and photograph of the finished exam. (On the due date of the Exam by 11.59 midnight) |
The Exam is based off of all of the Elements and Principles discussed this year. They must apply their knowledge learned in this class to their work.

Essential Questiosn: 1. How does one foster creative and innovative thinking? 2. How does an artist choose which materials and techniques might best communicate an idea? 3. How do artists and designers learn from trial and error? 4. What criteria and methods are used to select art work for presentations? 5. How do life experiences influence the way artists relate to art? 6. How do images influence our views of the world around us?

Students will be able to: 1. Transform personal experiences into original artwork using the elements and principles of art. 2. Increase competency in application of the elements and principles of art to effectively illustrate personal expression, style and technique. 3. Use and manipulate tools and materials in an age-appropriate manner that displays mastery in skill and style development. 4. Analyze and assess strengths in their own artwork. 5. Work on strategies for improvement based on technical skill and knowledge of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. 6. Apply self-reflection strategies to improve art skills and art concepts. |

Analyze how their responses to their art has devloped over time, based on their growth of knowledge and experiences with art and life. 4. Make analyze and describe the effect that an exhibition of their work has on their personal awareness, beliefs, and understandings. |
