    • Note - For the grade level and grade band standards, RI and RL are included to show how the standard applies to either reading informational (RI) or literary texts (RL), or both (RI & RL).
            • Component - 7SL1a:
              Come to discussions prepared, having read or researched material under study; draw on that preparation by referring to evidence on the topic, text, or issue to probe and reflect on ideas under discussion.
            • Component - 7SL1b:
              Follow norms for collegial discussions, track progress toward specific goals and deadlines, and define individual roles as needed.
            • Component - 7SL1c:
              Pose questions that elicit elaboration and respond to others’ questions and comments with relevant observations and ideas that bring the discussion back on topic as needed.
            • Component - 7SL1d:
              Acknowledge new information expressed by others and, when warranted, modify personal views.
          • Standard - 7SL2:
            Analyze the central ideas and supporting details presented in diverse formats (e.g., including visual, quantitative, and oral) and explain how the ideas clarify and/or contribute to a topic, text, or issue under study.
          • Standard - 7SL3:
            Delineate a speaker’s argument and specific claims, evaluating for sound reasoning, and the relevance and sufficiency of the evidence.
