Lesson Plan
Reading Graphs by ECSDM
Subject
Math, Science & Technology
Grade Levels
Intermediate, 7th Grade
Description
In 7th grade, students need to be able to read a variety of graphs. It is sometimes difficult to find a lesson that includes a variety of recent graphs. This 40-minute lesson provides an excellent introduction to a statistics unit. It includes double bar graphs, double line graphs, circle graphs, and pictographs for teachers and students to discuss. There are questions with answers provided for each type of graph. At the end of the lesson, teachers will have students complete a frequency table using a Favorite Type or Music survey so that the creation of double bar graphs can be covered during the next class period.
