This was a Kindergarten learning experience in which students recreated their immediate family using Kidspiration and doing crafts. Students then compared family sizes using a graph.

Procedure
Day 1
1. Introduce the families. Read Clifford's Family by Norman Bridwell.
2. Open SMART Board document and do slides 1-3
3. Make a list of who is in Clifford's family and compare it to other story book families. Use The Three Bears, The Three Pigs, Berenstein Bears, Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty.
Day 2
1. Read Me and My Family Tree by Joan Sweeney. Talk about how families make trees to show how big their family is.
2. Open the SMART Board Document and do slides 4 and 5.
3. Pass out the Family Tree Pattern and pictures of family members.
Have students cut out people who are in their family at home and glue them onto the tree.
Day 3
1. Read The Baby Sister by Holly Keller. Talk about siblings and things we do with siblings.
2. Using SMART Board Document, slide 6, graph the amount of siblings each students has. Compare which has the most and which has the least.
Day 4 & 5
1. Demonstrate how Kidspiration works and how the teacher's family looks.
2. Review expectations and rules of computer lab.
3. Take to computer lab. Have the students complete the project using Kidspiration. Have students print out their project.
4. Review the essential question.

Reflections and Feedback
The project went very well. Going into this, students had lots of experience with computer and the routines in the computer lab. This was a huge benefit. I was able to walk around and assist only a few times. Next time I would add an extension to fill up the allotted time. I would have students order their family members from oldest to youngest in a factor tree.
