The Day You Were Born WebQuest

Grade Levels

7th Grade

Procedure - Webquest

The teacher will review the criteria for the project with the class showing the webquest on the SMART Board and demonstrating some of the hyperlinks. This Webquest is inquiry-based and self-directed. All of the websites to be used have been pre-selected and hyperlinked on the Webquest page so that students have access to all necessary resources. The only information that they must search for on their own is in the “What Else is News?” section.
Students will be able to work independently and at their own pace to complete the Webquest assignment, but will be encouraged to help each other with the process.

  • Description

This webquest was designed for a 7th grade Technology Exploration class. Students in this class were all computer literate. The webquest took students to a variety of places for information that pertains to the day/year they were born.

Once students completed the webquest and collected all necessary data they were to use this information to create multimedia presentations. Students were given guidelines for the multimedia project, but were given the freedom to use their creativity and knowledge of PowerPoint to create their presentations. Instruction was given on several techniques that students did not know how to do.
