Description

In this lesson, students will analyze some of the different elements of plot. This lesson can be used as a pre-reading activity for a story, during reading or post-reading activity. The lesson is interactive.

Learning Objectives

  • Students will analyze the plot of a short story that they have read by placing the events in the correct sequential order based on the plot diagram.
  • Students will analyze the characteristics of the main characters in the short story that they have read.
  • Students will analyze the aspects of setting from a short story that they have read in class.

    • Open up the SMART Notebook file Story Elements
    • Each page is self explanitory and will link you to the description of the elements of plot-setting, and characters.
    • Each element will link you to a practice page which is interactive.
    • The assignment is on the last page, along with the rubric for assessment.
