Description

This lesson is a Jeopardy game for right triangles.

Duration

1 - 2 class periods

Materials

  • Computer

  • Microsoft Power Point

  • Pencil or Pen

  • Paper
  • SMART Board
  • Scientific Calculator
  • Right Triangles.ppt
  • Step by Step Procedure

    • When students walk into the room have the Jeopardy game displayed on the SMART Board.

    • Tell the students to get a calculator, paper and pen or pencil.

    • Divide the students into 5 or less equal groups. Have each group decide who will be the person to answer for their group.

    • Then play the game.

    • If you choose, you can have prizes for the group that wins.
    • Learning Objectives

      • The student will be able to use the Pythagorean theorem with 100% accuracy

      • The student will be able to fill the correct information into Pythagorean theorem with 90% accuracy
      • The student will be able to use the correct trigonometric function to solve right triangle problems with 90% accuracy
      • The students will be able to set up and solve sine, cosine or tangent problems with 90% accuracy
      • Assessment

        Students will receive points based on how successfully participate within their group.
