Description
This site provides students with the opportunity to create a planet that may be habitable by humans. Students use the online resources provided to learn what scientists are doing to determine if life exists on other planets and what instruments they have available to them to help in this process. Students choose a star-type, the orbit, mass, whether it has volcanoes, water, etc. from the "Virtual Planetary Laboratory." Based on their selections, they will be informed as to whether the planet they "created" can sustain human life. They can try again by starting the process over again.
