Learning Context/ Introduction

Students will learn the life cycle of a frog through instruction enhanced by PowerPoint presentations. Students will be required to complete a cycle of their own using Kidspiration.

Duration

Day 1: Approximately 25 minutes
Day 2: Approximately 25 minutes
Day 3: Approximately 40 minutes
Day 4: Approximately 40 minutes
Day 5: Approximately 25 minutes

Instructional/Environment Modifications

Video (Unitedstreaming) Frog clip. If this website is unavailable, YouTube also has some educational videos, such as The Life Cycle of a Frog.
Closed caption used for word recognition to aide weaker readers, as well as hearing impaired students or students who would benefit from auditory, in addition to, visual presentation.

Procedure

Day 1: Present the students with necessary information on the life cycle of a frog using PowerPoint presentations.

Day 2: Review with the students the different stages of growth throughout a frog's life (egg through adult). Show examples of each stage through details and pictures.

Day 3 & 4: Using Kidspiration, students will create a life cycle of a frog from the knowledge they have gained through previous lessons.

Day 5: Using PowerPoint presentations and video clips from Unitedstreaming or YouTube, students will review what they learned about the life cycle of a frog.
