Duration

This learning experience should be completed in four 40-minute sessions on Kidspiration, four 40-minute sessions on PowerPoint, and two 20-minute sessions during which the students present their work to their peers.

Essential Question

Will the students be able to create their own Autobiography PowerPoint containing illustrations and content related to the subject on each slide, and be able to present the finished product to the class?

Instructional/Environment Modifications

Instruction will take place in the classroom. The computer lab will be utilized for creating the outline on Inspiration, and the autobiography on PowerPoint. The SMART Board or LCD projector in the classroom will be used for presentation of each student's PowerPoint.

Procedure

Days one through three (40-minutes/session) - Using the "All about Me" checklist, students will begin to create a PowerPoint presentation. They will be directed to Microsoft to select appropriate graphics.

Day four - Students will complete at least eight slides and prepare for presentation.

Days five and six - Students present the PowerPoint to their peers using the Smart Board or LCD projector.

Reflections and Feedback

Students may need instruction on gathering clipart from the Internet. Students learned from each other how to use the different components of PowerPoint. A collaborative atmosphere was encouraged.
