Description
Students will sort, classify, count, and graph a given number of candy hearts.
Assessment
Students will complete the table, chart, and graph.
Students will discuss their results with the class.
Procedure
1. Students will be given 15 random colored candy conversation hearts.
2. Students will sort their candy hearts into piles according to color.
3. On the given table, students will record a tally mark under the color for each candy heart that they have.
4. On the given chart, student will record the total amount of tally marks for each color of candy heart.
5. On the given graph, students will color in the appropriate number of boxes to represent how many candy hearts of each color they have.
6. Teacher will ask students questions such as:
What color did you have the most of?
What color did you have the least of?
Did you have the same amount of any color? If so, which ones?
6. Students will enjoy their candy heart snack!
