Description
Sound is all around us. From the clap of thunder of a summer rain storm to the barking of a dog to a bed-time whisper, we are surrounded by sounds. While we may think we know what caused the sound – lightning, the dog, a family member – do we really know what makes sound? And do we know what makes one (the thunder) sound different from another (the dog)?
In this activity, students will explore these questions by manipulating found objects, and attempting some of the suggested experiments.
