ADAC Poster Contest

Learning Targets: 

I can use choice materials to create a poster with specific guidelines.  

I can use materials and tools safely and respectfully to create a final product.

ADAC (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council) Poster Contest. Students create a poster for the ADAC Poster Competition using graphic design techniques. 

Specifications: 

Original Artwork to be made on 12” x 18” paper

Judging criteria: 

✓ Impact of Message: Spelling Counts! Also, theme should be legible and easy to read

✓ Integration of Theme: Drawing should relate to theme

✓ Originality and Creativity: Avoid previous years’ designs or copying ideas

✓ Design: Are all elements clear and easy to understand? Do they relate to each other and create a pleasing composition?

• Complementary Colors

Adding Typography to an image to create an interesting composition that is easily understood by the viewer.

Choice materials: Color Pencil, Crayon, Oil Pastel, Water Color

1- not meeting expectations or didn't complete assignment 

2- starting to meet standards/expectations of the assignment 

3- meeting standards/expectations of assignment 

4- exceeding standards/ expectations of assignment

Assignment must include: 

Impact of Message: Spelling / Typography of the theme should be legible and easy to read and drawing/artwork should relate to the theme. Originality and Creativity (Is this your idea?) Design elements are clear and easy to understand and relate to each other and create a pleasing composition.
