Elements of Art/ Principles of Design

(1) VA:Cn10.1.6a Apply formal and conceptual vocabularies of art and design to view surroundings in new ways through artmaking.

I can create unique pieces of art applying my knowlede of the elements of art and principals of design.

 

I can use inspired ideas and themes from artists to create my own creative works of art

 

I can communicate my ideas effectively using techniques learned and images to convey a message in my art.

 

I can use proper descriptive language to critique my own work as well as professional artist's work.

Students will identify, evaluate, and create "Elements of Art" and "Principles of Design" in their artwork. They will create 2-dimentional and 3-dimentional art work. They will use different materials and techniques to give them a great understanding of the topic.

 Classwork: Students will be evaluated on completion of different small classwork exercises to build their understanding and gauge their own learning progress.

 

Projects: Students will be evaluated on completion of larger projects. Assessments of projects will be done with the use of a grading rubric.

 

Critique: Students will evaluate and critique their own, peers, and professional artwork.
