Reading Activities
Let's Share
Have your child select an interesting book to read. Read some parts aloud, taking turns reading to each other.

Tell Me A Story
Have your child read a fiction story. Discuss the kind of story it is - comedy, adventure, mystery, etc. Have your child tell you the story. Have your child tell about the characters and where the story takes place.

Reading for Fun
Read comic strips together from the newspaper. Take turns reading aloud. Discuss what they are about.

Tell Me the Story
Read a short articles from the newspaper or a magazine to your child. Ask her to summarize the article.

Descriptive Words
After your child reads a story, ask him/her to go back and pick out the describing words. For example, happy, sad, exciting.
