It's a Matter of Weather
Find the weather section in the newspaper. Read and discuss the current and extended forecasts. Look at weather maps for the country, discuss.
It's All Food
Talk about the basic food groups, for example: fruit/vegetable, bread/cereal, and diary. Discuss your favorite foods in each area.
All in a Day
Have your child list all the things he/she does in a day. Discuss how much time each takes. For example: sleeping, eating, attending school, watching TV, etc. Add the total time and see if it adds up to a full day.
Grocery Store
Make a list, together, for the grocery store. Have him/her estimate how much items costs, then add them up. Have your child go to the store with you and see how close your estimate is to the actual total. |
