1.1: The student will correctly label given musical terms and symbols found in ensemble music 1.2: Given ensemble music containing musical terms and symbols, the student will correctly perform the music in the musical direction indicated by the symbols. 2.1: The student will chant a series of notated rhythm patterns using combinations of note values including whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth in duple and triple meter. 2.2: The student will correctly notate triplet patterns in duple meter given aurally by the teacher 3.1: The student will experince literature written for the band/wind ensemble by prominent American composers of the contemporary idiom 3.2: The student will experience music written for band/wind ensemble by prominent composers from Great Britain and other countries appropriate to the technical level of the ensemble 4.1: The student will experience music by composers from the Baroque Period of music history 4.2: The student will experience music by composers from the Classical Period of music history 4.3: The student will experience music by composers from the Romantic Period of music history 4.4: The student will experience music by composers of the twentieth and twenty -first century 5.1: The student will perform with the band/wind ensemble at all concerts sponsored by the school music department 6.1: The student will experience music written for the musical theater 6.2: The student will experience music arranged for band/wind ensemble from the contemporary, jazz, and popular idioms 7.1: The student will perform given pieces of music without prior rehearsal.
