New Additions to the Assessment Builder
The Assessment Builder houses a collection of questions from previous New York State assessments. Registered users can search this question bank using different criteria such as subject/course, grade level, year, question type, and standards alignment, and then create customized worksheets for their classes. In addition, teachers can reorder questions, generate answer keys and scoring guides, and post assessments on their webpages.

Whether conducting research online, contributing personal essays to a class blog, or taking a virtual tour of a distant place, the internet expands students' worlds and provides opportunities that motivate and challenge them in new ways.

District's Publishing Initiative Benefits Education in New York State

As part of their Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2) Grant, the Enlarged City School District of Middletown (ECSDM) identified teachers within their district to receive SMART Boards, laptops, and other technologies to integrate into their classroom instruction. In return for this hardware, teachers were required to produce three pieces of exemplary instructional content that utilize this new equipment. These lessons not only required participating teachers to become familiar with the new technologies, they also served as a model for others on the seamless integration of new classroom tools with standards-based instruction.
