Revised NYS Learning Standard in Mathematics

In March, the Board of Regents adopted the revised NYS Learning Standard in Mathematics. The revised standard provides performance indicators for PreKindergarten through eighth grade, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. In addition to providing grade-level specific performance indicators, the new math standard is structurally different from the old standard.

Interactive Documents from the National Archives

While attending the 2005 Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC) in Orlando, Florida, staff members from the Center for Applied Technologies in Education (CATE) met with representatives from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). During that meeting, NARA staff members were introduced to the NYLearns.org initiative and the interactive tool developed by CATE for use with historical documents.

NYLearns.org’s eSkeleton

As NYLearns.org expands its reach across the state, new and exciting content becomes available. The eSeletons Project interactive learning resources are one such example. The eSkeletons Project website is devoted to the study of human and primate comparative anatomy. It offers a unique set of digitized versions of skeletons in 2-D and 3-D in full color, animations, and much supplemental information.
